The Dream Center Peru’s Intern Program was first started as a way to bridge the language barrier between the American missionaries and the Peruvian people they wanted to reach. However, since that time, it has become much more than a simple solution to the language barrier.

The DCP Intern Program is a year-long program that trains Christian youth from all over Perú to be pastors, missionaries, children’s ministry workers, etc. in their own communities and churches. The interns live and work at the DCP for one year, receiving free training in leadership, computers, multimedia, discipleship, theology, children’s ministries, drama, administration, graphic design, community development, missions, project management, community group formation, English, among other things. The Intern Program allows youth from all areas of Peru (mountains, jungles, and coast) to receive a training opportunity that they otherwise would not be able to afford.

The Dream Center Peru’s interns come from many different places. Each one has a different story. There are those who have grown up in the church and have always been leaders. There are others who, after years of rebellion, have turned to the Lord and have recently begun to serve Him. Although each intern has a completely different life story, they all have something in common: each has a servant’s heart and has been called by God to reach the people of their country.

Throughout the year of their internship, we stay in close communication with their pastor in order that the DCP can collaborate with the participating church on a campaign or social project.

After their year at the DCP, each intern is sent back to their church to teach other youth and adults the things they have learned throughout their training. During this process, each intern that the DCP trains multiplies into hundreds of people trained. Each trained intern multiplies into hundreds of lives touched.

While the Dream Center Perú Intern Program may be free to the Peruvian youth participating in the program, its facilitation is by no means cost-free.
